The structure, built in 1916, began as an armory to quarter the local units of the National Guard. From its completion, the building also supported community events, dances, suppers, meetings, and more. In 2015, the current tenant purchased the structure. The building was adapted to a performing arts center with original signage and a painting on the landing in the stairway off the lobby being retained as part of the adaptive reuse.
